Multidisciplinary STEM

eCYBERMISSION

U.S. Army-sponsored STEM team competition for grades 6-9. Identify a community problem; design + test a STEM solution.

About this competition

eCYBERMISSION is a free, web-based STEM competition sponsored by the U.S. Army Educational Outreach Program for students in grades 6-9. Teams of 3-4 students (plus a Team Advisor) identify a problem in their community, then design and test a solution using scientific inquiry or engineering design.

Project topics span health & safety, robotics, alternate sources of energy, environment, and more. The structured rubric and emphasis on real-world community impact makes this an excellent first research-style competition for middle schoolers — much lower barrier than ISEF qualifiers.

Top teams advance through state, regional, and national levels. National winners receive up to $10,000 in U.S. Savings Bonds per student.
