About this competition
ExploraVision asks U.S. and Canadian student teams of 2-4 to imagine a technology that doesn't yet exist but could in 5+ years. Deliverables: a written project explaining the science behind the technology, how it might evolve, and a prototype sketch. Four grade-level divisions (K-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12).
Run by NSTA (National Science Teaching Association) and sponsored by Toshiba since 1992. The structured project + writing format is a strong fit for teams that include students who like research and design, not necessarily coding or hardware. National winners receive $10,000 U.S. Savings Bonds per student plus a Washington D.C. trip.
